A lot to go through on this puzzle. First of all this is a fairly early Stave from 1983. Originally part of the well known Lilly Collection, Steve Richardson cut this puzzle. What makes it very unusual, which we don’t recall seeing before, is there is a second layer of birds that are identical to the 3 in the main puzzle which makes it all that harder as you essentially have double images for part of the solution. You can see from the images, the puzzle has very bright colors and a great irregular shape. We haven’t see a border quite like this either where the name pieces pop out. Do note that there are a lot of very large silhouette pieces in this puzzles, many of them names, you can see examples of a number of them in the picture.
Bonus: includes some of the original marketing materials the puzzle was shipped with.
Very good condition given its age. A few pieces have some wear, the paper layer has rubbed off a bit (see pics). 2 repaired pieces. There are also 2 pieces that appeared to have been repainted, not sure if that was done by Stave or at a later date. About 26 personal pieces, many consisting of various names. The lid does show some fading. (Puzzle priced accordingly.)
