This is the first time we have ever had a copy of this LE in before and it’s a very interesting design, in fact, we were a little stumped (bad pun intended!). Not to be confused with a Teaser of the same name, this hand-painted LE is part of a 3 puzzle series called The Carousel Series, each with a different challenge that gets harder each puzzle. From what we gather, this is the 2nd in the series. Stave is not categorizing it as a Trick, but it’s harder than a Teaser. If it came out today, we are guessing Stave might classify it as a Troublemaker, but really nothing quite like what we have come across. The challenge is to make a second puzzle out of the roughly 40 blue pieces that are inserted into the “frame” of the larger puzzle (see pic). A really unusual Stave.
Stave’s site lists this puzzle at 170pcs, this copy is about 30 pcs larger.

Excellent/Very good condition. A little uplifting on a small number of pieces. 1 replacement piece (left monkey). Note that if you purchase the entire series of 3 the monkeys appear to link arms to create a row. We have never had any puzzles from this set before so we think it’s possible that 1 monkey comes with each puzzle. However, the image on Stave’s site shows 2 monkeys with this puzzle, so we aren’t sure. A replacement piece was made – since we don’t have any of the other puzzles in the set to match the curve of the monkey’s arm it probably won’t link to another if in fact each in the set originally had 2 monkeys. (Sorry if this is confusing, email if not clear).
